For overĀ 20 years, the Vogel Bindery has been crafting books entirely by hand using traditional techniques virtually unchanged for 300 years.
Approximately forty steps go into the making of a book. Starting with 100% cotton rag paper that is cut, folded and sewn together by hand to become the text block. Ending with the final step of hand-tooling a design in 24 K gold onto the leather cover. Each step is carefully considered and meticulously executed.

Our clients are as diverse as our services, ranging from a private client's wedding album, to a publishing company's 300 presentaion bindings, to an interior decorator's wall of faux book spines. We delight in working directly with the client to achieve the right look and feel for that particular project.
The Vogel Bindery also provides rare book restoration services to both dealers and private clients.

The Vogel Bindery is located atĀ 30 Blue Jay Way, East Hampton, N.Y. 11937 (www.vogelbindery.com)
